Kingman County has entered into a unique partnership with the Kingman Lions Club to purchase a portable device to screen the vision of children.
The Spot Vision Screener looks like an oversized camera. It can detect vision problems in children as young as 6 months old. It will be used to screen school children and also by the Lions club at selected events.
The Lions club qualified for a grant to pay half the cost of the device. The county provided the other half of the funding. The grant also paid for a portable printer, carrying case and other accessories.
