Benefits
Kingman County offers a variety of benefits to its full-time employees, including paid health insurance, paid dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, a nominal paid life insurance policy, and several paid holidays each year.
KPERS
Every full-time employee also is enrolled in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). KPERS membership becomes effective immediately upon hire. The employee contributes 6% each pay period and the county contributes a percentage of the employee's salary as determined each year by the state legislature. The employee's contribution is not subject to federal income tax. Retirement benefits are determined by the number of years of service and final average salary. Employees participating in KPERS are covered by a life insurance policy equal to 1.5 times their salary.
Other Benefits
Other benefits from outside companies, such as additional insurances and investment companies, also are available to county employees at their cost.
